Upcoming Men's Club Breakfast Speakers and Topics
Dec 8, 2024 -- Charissa Jefferson -- Beth Chaim’s own Charissa O. Jefferson M.A., M.L.S., award-winning Princeton University’s Labor Economics Librarian and Liaison to the Industrial Relations Section of Princeton University Library, will present to the December 8, 2024 Men’s Club breakfast. Charissa will talk about the University’s “IR Section,” as it’s known world-wide. In particular, Charissa will present a Princeton professor’s key role in establishing Social Security and another on the federal government’s WWII anti-discrimination campaign that ultimately led to the establishment of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in 1964. Charissa will also talk about her latest exhibition entitled “Powering Up the U.S. Labor Force: Women in Industry During World War II,” which features the first woman professor at Princeton. Please join us in learning more about the IR section which was founded over 100 years ago, the exhibitions that Charissa has personally curated, and how Princeton University was instrumental in constructing and establishing major American policies that exist to this day.
